Charity baseball game is held at Fenway Park.

The Boston Braves lose to the Service All-Stars 9-8 in the game. Babe Ruth manages the All-Star team, made up of players currently in the service, including Ted Williams. Ruth joins Williams in a pre-game home run contest, in which Williams hits one ball into the stands and Ruth injures himself hitting a pop-up.
